ABOUT THE PUBLISHERS
805 Living is published ten times a year and is a property of 3Digit Media, LLC.
Co-Founder and Publisher: Carla J. Blanco
Carla J. Blanco is co-founder and publisher of 3Digit Media, LLC, a Westlake Village, Calif.-based regional magazine publishing company. She is responsible for
advertising sales, circulation, finance, and general operations for the company. Before starting 3Digit Media, Blanco was president of BlancoCirc, her own circulation
and publishing consulting firm, where she assisted both small and large publishers on projects that included: magazine launches, circulation strategy, staffing, turnarounds,
budgets, valuations, and due-diligence processes. Prior to founding BlancoCirc, Blanco held senior-level circulation positions with both consumer and b-to-b
magazine publishers where she managed circulation files ranging from 20,000 on up to 500,000.
Blanco's overall publishing career spans 17 years and her experience encompasses all facets of publishing including sales, circulation, finance, and operations.
Co-Founder and Editor in Chief: Lynne Andujar
Lynne Andujar is the founding editor for 805 Living magazine and also a founding partner of 3Digit Media, LLC, the parent company for 805 Living. Andujar heads up
all creative and editorial direction for 805 Living. In addition, Andujar oversees magazine production and works on sales strategy for existing and new product launches,
as well as handles all marketing and public relations for the company.
Andujar's career in publishing began at ELLE magazine where she held various marketing positions for the high-end fashion magazine. After ELLE, Andujar
joined the marketing department at Seventeen—the largest beauty/fashion magazine in the US—and as creative services director, she developed branding,
promotional, and revenue-generating initiatives for the magazine. During her tenure, Seventeen experienced tremendous revenue growth, broke non-endemic advertising
categories, such as automotive, luxury cosmetics, and food, and established itself as the leader in the highly competitive teen magazine market.
Prior to working in the publishing industry, Andujar worked for Tommy Hilfiger in New York City.
Andujar lives in the Conejo Valley with her husband Stephen.
EDITORIAL TEAM
Heidi Dvorak, Copy Editor
Heidi Dvorak spends her time fixing misplaced modifiers as 805 Living's copy editor, even though her extensive list of writing accomplishments spans two decades and includes articles for
Family Circle, Marie Clare, the Los Angeles Times, Shape, Movieline, In Touch, In Style, Los Angeles Times Magazine, Pilates Style and the L.A. Weekly.
Billy Goodnick, Contributing Editor, Gardening
Billy Goodnick is an Irish whiskey-sipping, stingy brim-wearing, rock 'n roll drummer (really). But that don't pay the bills in Santa Barbara, so he's also a landscape architect who writes,
and teaches in lecture halls, classrooms, on television; and by blocking the paths slow-moving, unwitting strangers. His mission is to "out" the people who commit Crimes Against Horticulture.
If you just can't get enough of Billy with our "In The Garden," read his "Design Workshop" column in
Fine Gardening Magazine. Online, he blogs about sustainability at Cool Green Gardens, and alternately foams at
the mouth or posts beautiful garden pictures at edhat.com.
Maryann Hammers, Contributing Columnist
Maryann Hammers, a long-time Westlake Village resident, is a writer/editor/reporter specializing in health/wellness, spas, travel and lifestyle. She is an editor for Lifescript.com, former
editor in chief of Spa magazine, and frequent contributor to publications and websites including Sunset, Real Simple, Spa, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, Your Health, CNN travel,
Santa Barbara Visitor's Magazine, and dozens more.
Anthony Head, Executive Editor
Since turning in his first professional (and paying) newspaper assignment in high school, Anthony has been published nationally and internationally, has traveled to a dozen other countries
in pursuit of captivating stories, and has profiled politicians, musicians, athletes, doctors, actors, chefs, animal enthusiasts, winemakers, authors, lots of lawyers and many other intriguing
people. He's been with 805 Living since our first issue.
Mark Langton, Contributing Editor, Events
Mark Langton lives in Newbury Park with his wife, Teresa. An avid mountain biker and mountain bike coach (mountainbikeskills.com),
Mark sites Thousand Oaks' extensive open space trail system as one of the main reasons he loves and lives in the area—so much so that he volunteers his time for the Conejo Open Space
Trails Advisory Committee. Previous editorial stints include more than 15 years with fitness publications, including Mountain Biking and Men's Fitness. Mark currently edits the calendar of
events sections and covers philanthropic events for "Good Deeds." He has been a contributor since 2005.
Mallory McCreary, Senior Editor
Mallory McCreary writes the monthly Finds/Travel and Upgrades columns. She loves food, design of all kinds, and travel. On her travels she's been stranded and refused help from a busload
of Italian soccer players in rural Hungary, been detained without food for mysterious reasons at the border of Sikkim in India, and forced to eat raw sea urchin and give perms to farmers
in Korea. Mallory's fascination with home design is similarly eclectic, but sadly these days consists more of window-shopping than buying (except for the midcentury modern chairs she just
picked up at a yard sale for $15 apiece). She firmly believes that a weeklong vacation should really be a month, that there's no greater sin than a blank white wall, and that a home-cooked
meal can salvage even the worst of days.
Gary Moss, Photography Editor
Gary Moss has amassed a solid reputation and a prolific body of work from his 25 years in the business, specializing in travel, food, celebrity portraits, advertising and editorial photography. His
work has appeared in Bon Appetit, Cigar Aficionado, Coastal Living, Conde Nast Traveler, Family Fun, Food Arts, LA Times Magazine, Men's Health, Nat'l Geographic Traveler, Newsweek,
NY Times Magazine, Outside, People, Robb Report, Rolling Stone, Sunset, This Old House, Time and TV Guide among many others. Gary also owns the Camera Whisperer photographic workshops
and seminars (www.camerawhisperer.com). His passion is to teach the pro-sumer the correct way to shoot pictures.
Frank Nelson, Contributing Columnist
Freelance writer Frank Nelson worked for newspapers and magazines in England, New Zealand, and Australia before arriving in Santa Barbara. He writes our Arts & Culture column along
with features and other stories on a range of topics. He's also the author of two humorous travel books, All You Need is Luck and A Little More Luck; for more information
visit allyouneedisluck.com.
Angela Pettera, Contributing Editor, Dining
Angela Pettera has been writing about food and restaurants in the L.A. area for 12 years. She started as the "Restaurant News" columnist for the Los Angeles Times and has been the L.A.
Editor for the Zagat Survey and the Ventura County Editor for Gayot.com. In addition to her role as our Dining Editor, Angela is the Treasurer of the women's culinary organization Les
Dames d'Escoffier.
Tajinder Rehal, Research editor
In each issue, research editor Tajinder Rehal strives to get the facts straight—no matter if it's a price for a living room pillow featured in "Upgrades" or the favorite food of a person
profiled in "P.S." Since Tajinder's job includes getting in touch with every single person featured in the magazine, she never knows who she'll be in contact with any given day—it could be the
chef of the hottest new restaurant in town to a local boatmaker. She also contributes to Women's Health, Scrubs, and New Parent magazines.
Sarene Wallace, Contributing Editor, Food
Sarene Wallace has written for the Taste column since 2005. An avid cook and award-winning journalist, her work has also appeared in 70 newspapers nationwide, Sunset magazine, and on
the HGTV and Food Network websites. She received a scholarship from the Association of Food Journalists. Sarene spends her free time developing recipes for the cookbook she plans to
publish someday.
